Description Here's Meggie's mugshot in full size, from the composite here: [link] . After I made the painting in Painter, I went to work battering it up in Photoshop. I've done some work restoring old photos, so some of the nicks and creases were copy/pasted from actual photos and blended in using various layer blending modes. I also took a sheet of tracing paper, crumpled it up, scanned it on my (rather dirty at the time) scanner, getting all kinds of lines, cat hairs, bits of dust and crinkles that also got carefully selected then blended in. A few flyspots and waterstains were added with custom brushes, along with that weird blue reflective stuff you often get in the darkest parts of old photographs. A touch of grain and some lighting effects did the rest.

Having taken all that kind of stuff OFF photos before, trying to make them look nice, it was tons of fun trying to make a painting look like a banged up photo!
