Yes, they can. Males can also spray but it's less common. Mine have never sprayed before, and they're both 3 years old.

If you already have a male, you wouldn't want females anyway unless you were trying to breed. lol Spraying wouldn't really be a problem. Just be careful because cats carry a bacteria that can be deadly to chins if bitten or scratched.

It's called Pasteurella. Just something to be careful of but I wouldn't worry about it too much.
