Good rendering apart from the dress. Burroughs' Martians do not wear clothes, they find it disgusting. But I like how you depicted the jewellery.

I see your point. Still, I believe that if a culture considers clothes strange and disgusting, it would make no sense to covers genitalia and nipples, which is what we (human culture) consider the last border that separates us from nudity, and that is where all our social/moral issues kick in. In the western culture that is due to the concept of shame and decency derivated from the christian religion. So to me covering genitalia and nipples in a character like Dejah Thoris feels prissy...

Dejah Thoris is an entity created by a human mind and therefore subject to human ideas about stuff. This is my interpretation. If you don't like it you are more then welcome to make your own. Discussing which is the right interpretation seems kind of pointless.

Really sharp stuff here chief. The texturing you put in that metal did not go unnoticed.

I don't think you really need any classes for it as long as you have basic computer knowledge. You clearly know how to paint. With a digital tablet and some painting software, like Paint tool SAI, photo shop elements or corel Painter, you can quite effortlessly bring those skills over to a computer. Painting with a mouse is just punishment thou, don't even try it. When it comes to digital art or painting and drawing in general, I'm all self taught. There is a lot of free tutorials on DA and on other places that explains specific techniques, like working with textures and such, but the basics of digital painting is regular painting.

I know what you mean by painting with a mouse. I've done a little of that and it's frustrating as hell. I'll have to look into a tablet. I've got Paint Shot Pro, but I should pick up some of the paint software you mentioned. Thanks for the info! You'r work is very professional looking.

I've never used paint shop pro, but I suppose it works just as well as the ones I said. That's more a question of personal preferences. I like Paint tool SAI because it's cheap and you can run it on a crap computer, but it's still very versatile. It's just for painting thou, so it's no good if you are using a lot of filters, textures or if you need to do a lot of colour editing aside from the basics.
