PersonalityAtlas is a stubborn young colt who will ignore commands and often randomly stop while being led around. He is slow to fully trust people, and will refuse to take commands from most of them. He will follow people he trusts like a puppy (unless he is being led). At mealtimes Atlas guards his food ferociously, pinning back his ears and nipping anyone or anything that comes close. If you are walking too close to him he will sometimes reach out and nip you sharply. He doesn't like horses too close behind him and will kick out at them. He is a very noisy colt that whinnies often, and will respond to any he hears. Atlas also tends to slobber on people when he uses them as scratching posts for his face.

Odd Habits: He will use people he trusts as scratching posts

Loves: Getting his rump scratched and groomed.

Hates: Things that try to steal his food

History:

Shayna looked through the stallion's ads on the colourful website slowly, trying to find a mustang stallion with wild roots to sire her an endurance prospect. She scrolled down on the second last page and added another stallion to her list of potentials. No boys grabbed her on the last page, and she reviewed her list made up of 6 stallions; 3 grullos, a bay dun, a buckskin and a dunalino. After a second review, two of the grullos, the dunalino and the buckskin were kicked off the list - leaving the last grullo and the bay dun.

Laird's Storm Caller and RMS Vesuvius, the final two. It was a tough choice; each performed excellently and had beautiful gaits in the videos shown of them working and at liberty, and both had direct wild descendants. Two days later, and after heavy deliberation with various staff members at Wild Ibis Stud, Shayna had decided to purchase a straw from RMS Vesuvius. She planned to breed him with one of her new Knabstrupper mares, Fairview's Rare Encounter, who showed a lot of promise with endurance riding and had been through heavy training at her previous stable.

When the straw arrived Shayna gave the names of the matching pair to her on-house vet, Jake Silva, so the straw could be labelled. On the container he wrote 'RMS Vesuvius x Rare Feather' and stored the straw away safely. As breeding manager, he gave Shayna notice that the mare was in heat and went to collect her. The straw was used and the mare was returned to the stable.

Four months passed and Shayna was worried; the Knabstrupper mare who was supposed to have been bred had not shown any signs of pregnancy, and had actually been in heat only a week or two after her impregnation. She called Jake to tell her what was happening, and to perform a pregnancy test in case she had gone on heat even though she had conceived, a rare but possible event. The mare had been clipped to the cross ties and huffed a few times impatiently as she and Shayna waited for him to arrive. He finally entered the barn, a big box in hand and walked over to them. He placed the box on the ground and looked at the two before him.
"Hey Jake, you got everything?" Shayna patted the mare happily.
"Yeah, sorry about the wait," He gave a small smile, looking a bit confused, "Why are we performing a pregnancy test on this lady? She hasn't been bred."
"What do you mean? She was supposed to be crossed with Vesuvius's imported straw?" He looked shocked at Shayna's sentence.
"Oh crap. I completely fucked up." Shayna went a little bit pale and stopped patting the calm mare.
"What happened Jake? That was a pricey straw."
"I bred Rare Feather. I must've swapped the name, dammit!" Jake was clearly upset and clenched his fists tightly.
"What the hell!? How the hell did you manage that?" She spoke loudly now, almost loud enough to be shouting.
"I thought you told me to breed her!"
"No way in hell would I do that, you know that I would never have bred such a wild mare with that bad of a temperament!"
"God dammit. I am so sorry Shayna." He looked at the ground, embarrassed and disappointed in himself. Shayna gave a sigh.
"It's fine. While you are on this side of the island we may as well check to see if she is preggers, eh?"

The Knabstrupper mare was returned to the herd, and Rare Feather was brought in and clipped up. The test was done, and she was definitely pregnant - it was even beginning to show.
"How did you manage to breed her, she normally likes to kick vets." Shayna said with a smile and Jake smiled back.
"At least we are getting a foal, even if it isn't the cross as I had planned," she continued, "I did however hear Lusitanos can be good endurance mounts, so that's a plus." Her anger had subsided and the excitement of a new foal arriving in the future had replaced it.
"I guess it's time to call up Vesuvius's owner and tell them what has happened. You want the pleasure of receiving their annoyance, Jake, or you want me to do it?" Shayna laughed as Jake gave an embarrassed smile.
"The pleasure is all yours, boss."
