Another character in my Elementals universe/story.

Hurrak (accent on the "a"), a member of Quetzal's species/race (Advanced Aves), is based on magpie-jays (a mix of both black- and white-throated) and is a guardian of the forest. Basically a bird-shifter version of a police force.

Advanced Aves are bird shifters. Their primary nature is that of a bird, and they can shift to a humanoid form. However, they tend to stay away from humans and other creatures. Their humanoid appearances vary; while some may pass for humans, others would look non-human beyond any doubt.

STATS
Name: Hurrak
Race: Advanced Aves
Age: Approx. 1,500-1,800 years old (in human years, he'd be around 27-37)
Height: 6'1" (186cm) in human form
Job: Forest guardian

I drew this guy first in April, didn't like it, and then changed his bird (... wow, that sounded weird) and the design completely, and drew him again in June, and then I loved the design! In this second version, his eyebrows were initially going to be white, and he was going to have a white goatee, but I didn't like it, so I went for this instead. It's weird because even as I had already started coloring this digitally, I kept working on the pencil sketch in parallel, just so I could have it looking finished in my sketchbook too.
