When someone is able to get past Tyree’s awkward exterior, one can find a wonderful person underneath. Tyree is a genuine soul, they always mean what they say and see no reason to lie to a person. When they care about someone, they mean it fully. Tyree loves very openly when they manage to get close to someone and isn’t afraid to show it. They also can be quite playful, though that can be a bit hard to get out of them. Though Tyree may at first feel afraid that they would come off as weird, once you get them going with joking around they put their heart into it. They love to make their friends laugh, and they love having fun, so it’s a win/win situation, right?
Outside of personal relationships, Tyree is an adaptable and self-sufficient person. When entering a new environment, Tyree can easily figure out how to handle themself and get whatever they need to do done. They understand how to take care of themself properly, and can do whatever tasks need handling with relative ease by themself.
Something that tends to throw people off about Tyree is how stoic they are. They don’t really feel the need to outwardly express what they’re feeling, so they tend to have a serious expression a lot. They can be a bit stiff, and they’re a bit awkward in how they talk to and respond to people. This makes Tyree a bit hard to read, something they’ve been working on fixing, but not really getting much progress in that area. Their being awkward makes it kind of hard for the to make friends. Tyree doesn’t know how to talk to people at first, small talk being a bit foreign of a concept to them.
Tyree can be naive as well. When they first meet people, they want to believe that they have good intentions at heart. This has lead to many situations where people have been able to use Tyree’s kindness and believing nature. They also are quite the intelligent person, Tyree has a brilliant mind that is always racing. They have a vast knowledge of many subjects, both practical and academic. Besides math, that subject is still alluding them to this day.
On the downside, Tyree has grown to be a sad, slightly paranoid person. Being the person to survive a freak accident made them afraid of getting into another. Tyree is the type of person to look for the nearest escape route in a building just in case anything drastic, such as a fire, would somehow happen. They tend to think that the worst will always happen, so they prepare for these drastic possibilities. Tyree is a deary, withdrawn person as well. It’s not that they don’t want to interact with people, it’s that they’re convinced that their negative outlook on life as a whole and their intense depression will drive people away.
Lastly, Tyree can be manipulated easily. With their being naive, it can be easy to use the trust they so easily put into other people for cruel reasons. This has happened to them a few times, usually by middle school bullies and the such. Though when they eventually realizes that they are being used, they get incredibly angry. They won’t easily forget when people use them.
History:
(Trigger warning: Limb loss mention, suicidal indentation)
Born in Unova’s Floccesy Town during a bitter fall evening, Tyree came into the world after a bit of a comotion, their mother’s water breaking while working on the family farm while their father was in town on business. Resulting in a rush to the hospital on boths ends, and a long and strenuous birth.
A story that Tyree would come to be told on a yearly basis as they grew older.
Tyree Campbell was born to a family of successful farmers, selling crops, dairy, and fruit picking services. The two wanted a few children, Tyree being the last child the two decided to have.
Growing up, Tyree loved living on the farm. They could frequently be found following their mother around as she worked. They particularly enjoyed working with the cows on the farm, amazed by how big they were and by their docile nature.
On occasions they would go with this father into town as he sold their products at farmers markets. Always quietly by his side as he sold product all day.
Most of all, they enjoyed playing with their older brothers. Since Tyree was the youngest, their brothers took it upon themselves to be loving and and protective as well as nuisances, as many siblings tend to be.
Their oldest brother would always take it upon himself to look out for their little sibling, having a bit of an issue with babying Tyree too much. They ate it up, though. Enjoying every bit of attention he would give them.
Their second oldest sibling was someone Tyree would constantly find themself being at arms with, they got along well enough, but they just always managed to butt heads somehow over the smallest of things.
But when push came to shove, the three always had each other's backs when it mattered
They enjoyed helping the two around the farm with the work they had, Tyree has only happy memories of their early years on the farm.
The troubles they had with gender began around age ten.
Binary gender never felt. . . right. Tyree never felt that they fit in the strict ideas of “one or the other”
It took a few trips on the family computer late at night, finding different websites after typing in how they didn’t feel like they belonged to either binary gender.
It was the first time Tyree had heard of the concept of nonbinary genders, and nothing felt more right.
After countless hours of research, self reflection, and some tough realizations, Tyree has figured out they were Agender.
Coming out to their whole family happened soon after.
Tyree knew their family were accepting, open minded people. Being told their child wasn’t cis couldn’t be bad, right? Tyree was sure that everybody would accept them.
Their parents were a bit awkward receiving the news, they were admittedly pretty clueless about nonbinary people, but they didn’t want to cause their child pain by being unaccepting. They asked questions, they did their own research, and worked hard to understand Tyree better so they could make them feel welcomed and loved as best they could.
It took some trial and error, but eventually it worked out.
Tyree was out to their family, they were accepted, and they never felt happier in their life
The incident happened when Tyree was thirteen.
They were walking just a little too close to a Combine, assured that after years of working around the farm they would be alright. That they could get through the summer day’s work and relax in their room after.
One moment they were making their way through the field.
The next their hand got caught in the machine.
There wasn’t much Tyree could remember from that moment, they could recall screaming, the intense pain going through their left arm, and the panic from the driver of the Combine as they stopped the machine.
They couldn’t remember being rushed to the hospital, or much from what happened in the emergency room. They kept fading in and out of consciousness, they were terrified that they were going to die.
Tyree woke up confused, the room they were kept in had the light off, fluorescent lights from the hospital hallways all that lit their room. Tyree softly and repeated called out for their mom, unsure of where they were at the time. Eventually, nurses came into their room. It was a commotion, nurses getting the doctors as soon as they could.
During all this activity, they looked at their left arm, finding a bandaged stump in the place of where their hand would be.
Eventually it was explained to them that while the emergency surgeons were able to save their left arm, they had to amputate their left hand off.
Tyree felt numb hearing this, instinctively looking down to the stump where their hand used to be. They thought their life was over. How could they possibly live on?
Tyree had to be kept in the hospital for a few days, doctors wanting to keep an eye of their arm for the first couple days to make sure that any sudden complications would endanger their life. It gave Tyree a lot of time to think to themself, to wonder about what would happen in the future.
It was early summer, they had just graduated middle school and was convinced now they were either going to spend the warm months cooped in a hospital or cooped up in their room.
Both sounding like the worst possible fate to have. Tyree would wonder why they were even alive, why they deserved to suffer like this. Even when they came home, thoughts like this kept plaguing them.
Eventually, when they were so depressed that they would rarely get out of bed, Tyree finally talked to one of their brothers about these thoughts and feelings. Immediately their parents were told, and the family immediately worked to find a therapist, since they knew that they weren’t the most equipped the situation.
After a few tries and some asking around, they found the right therapist for Tyree.
Something their parents would constantly tell them was how they would be the first Campbell to go to college, encouraging them to do well in school with this in mind.
Going back to school after losing their hand made it a bit difficult to focus on these goals Tyree previously worked so hard for, as well as finding that the Unova school systems weren’t the best fit for their goals.
Once more, Tyree and their parents had to do a bit of research to find something good for them.
Ninfia Academy was the perfect fit. It was a bit far from home, but an accepting and well known school of the arts? It was right up Tyree’s alley.
An application was sent in shortly after.
