Description Taken at the Plantin-Moretus museum in Antwerp; scaled down to 50% so let me know if you want the original (2008-11/img_2988).

An antique book, a Missale Romanum (a Latin prayer book, if you will) printed by Christoffel Plantijn in 1572.

This leather-bound book has coloured decorative initials. It would look good as a spell-book perhaps.

Because of the low light in the museum, I used a wide aperture (f/1.8 on the 50mm lens) and this gives a very small depth-of-field, resulting in the front of the book being shar and the back blurred. Ths means the book could be scaled down and placed on a table, for example, but don't put it in front of things that are sharply in focus, or it will look out of place.

Scaled down to 50%, colour balance somewhat improved, and I also added corners which were missed in my photo.

This is *barefootliam 's royalty-free stock account. You can use the images here in any work on DeviantArt (including prints) without needing any permission or paying any fee; but you must let me know when you use a piece so I can link back to it.

You can use the pieces non-commercially for any purpose whatsoever; again I'd like a link back if possible.

You can use the pieces commercially, but in this case you must send me a copy of the finished work, and the cost is that you must go entirely barefoot for a day, i.e. all the time for 24 consecutive hours. OK, I'm weird. Live with it.

Thanks! You've done well on shadows, but the placed objects seem a little brighter than the background. I wonder if you'd get better blending if the horse were behind, and partly obscured by, the tree to the right? The shadows would be a pain to get looking right though.
