Description
A piece of calligraphy I did as a teenager, I think in 1980, as calligraphy practice. It is a Bible quote, probably from The Wisdom of Jesus of Sirach, also called the book of Ecclesiasticus (not to be confused with Ecclesiastes) in the Apocrypha. Yes, ch. 30, v. 1.A man who loves his

haha well, you are kind, but i do see the flaws. But some differences are what makes calligraphy alive.
i learned from books, and from some lessons, and with a lot of practice. Yes, you have to learn some rules. It’s like composition and balance in art: when you get good you can break the rules, but you hae to understand them first.

Well, I'm not a teenager any more, and I don't think my father is about to whip me 
Yes, based closely on Johnston's foundation hand. These days i prefer a cross between a formal italic and blackletter.
