i though that the idf used weapons like the galil and tavor

or maybe that's just the comandos

The galil was the main weapon of IDF in the past, now IDF's main weapon is M16. In one or two years, the main weapon will be Tabor.
But I know that IDF have more kinds of guns, but they are not so popular.

huh, interesting...

I personally would take a galil over an m16, but I've never fought, much less shot either weapon. I'd more likely trust you, you being Israeli and thus most likely having military training.

I forgot to tell you, the Galil is still in use in Israel, is just not the standard weapon of the IDF. usually the Artillery Corps, the armored forces, and reserve soldiers are fighting with him.
