Description
Avion Travel is an Italian band from Naples. Their music is very classy pop, with an authentic vein of jazz within.Recently they gained even more popularity, kudos their interpretation of some of the most beautiful songs of Paolo Conte's, an Italian singer and composer who is well known not just in Italy but also abroad, especially in France.
Fausto Mesolella, Avion Travel's guitar player, supports the band with the broadest range of sounds, balancing between precious background textures and amazing and capturing solos. A really talented musician.

i was almost forced
i had my tele lens mountd on the camera and i was taking shots from the stage's edge, when he approached my corner and happened to be under that red spotlight. that framing was the only way to have his face and hands in the pic at the same time...

The lighting in this is really interesting -- the way it lights up the hair on his arm giving him an 'aura' of sorts. And how DID you get that odd angle?

well the stage was very low, say about 50cm or so from the floor, so i was forced to lay on the floor to take shots. this guy was playing in the darkest corner of the stage, and while i was there he happened to approach the edge of the stage just in front of me, very very near to me, and suddenly he was under the light cone of a red spotlight. i had my 70-300mm telephoto lens mounted, so i had to shoot at the minimum focal length. the angle is the result of trying to get his face and his guitar in the frame

Well, we share the discomfort... Idraw with my face pretty much touching the paper, so I get a lot of top-of-the-back aches. My whole process takes twice as long as it could because I spend half the time correcting my posture...

i'd rather say it's a bit noisy, since it was taken at 1600 iso under very lo light (1/15sec). i prefer this slightly grainy appearance to a soft look, but it is a matter of personal taste
