The location is the Lautersee in Mittenwald (Germany) and another favorite place of mine to hang out!

Wow, only today, years later after having found this picture randomly on the internet do I finally learn who took it. This has always been one of my favorite pictures, and now I've finally found the artist behind it! Let me just say that this is an amazing photograph! Bravo!

You've truly captured a magnificent view here mate. In fact I think I'm gonna find it hard to fault this. The huge variety in colours, from startling whites to deep greens and blues are so appealing. I love the amount of detail you've managed to encapsulate within the restriction of a frame. The grasses in the foreground make for an added extra interest, and they're all so well focused due to your careful selection of aperture. Composition is spot-on, having chosen to put the horizon on the lower third. The graduation of the sky, from the cobalts at the top down to the light blues is as perfect as could be expected, and the jaunty peaks of the mountains are so entertainging to the eye.
I could go on forever, but I just wanted to add that this is a great piece. Congratulations (honestly)

That is truly the most beautiful picture of landscape I have ever seen. Your eyes have been blessed with something beyond common comprehension. I love it and wish I could sit at the end of that dock and let my legs hang into the water.
