Question: did you draw the full piece first and split it in two, or did you draw Octavia first, then Vinyl, and then combined them?

I drew Octavia first. Then a month or so later I drew the Vinyl. I had the Octavia piece handy so I could make certain they were to scale and perspective. I then did a tiny bit of digital jiggery to combine the two. Mainly linking the tipped over ice box and the beach towel.

When I first saw the Octavia pic I thought that she was in the middle of doing a backwards baseball slide into a prone position having been moving from right to left across the screen, though this combo image makes it look more like she's in the middle of turning from her right to face a threat on her left and is going to either drop prone or go into a kneeling stance.

A bullpup with an out of the box trigger that is better than a military two stage AR15 trigger? That's impressive! I can't see much of a future for the bullpup, but that is impressive.

The thing I find interesting is the one thing Karl and Ian have come across with every bullpup they've tested. When there is a failure it usually much harder to resolve.

Very true. And people forget that bullpups were by and large adopted in the cold war - back then armies envisioned soldiers being taxied around the battlefield in APCs while wearing NBC suits. A bullpup in that scenario was superior to the conventional rifles of the era. But WWIII between two competing superpowers isn't a big issue anymore. Let's hope it stays that way...
