I watched the The Railway Children on my birthday and it's on my mind a lot now! I really like that film, so I was inspired to do something about trains again since my 'Travelling Light' pic~ (sorry if I wasn't clear before but this isn't a fanart lol ;-
Since I spend a lot of time waiting for my train I always like looking at the architecture in the station, so NOW I keep ending up with ideas for pictures set in railway stations...
p.s he's an Irish Wolfhound. ;3
p.p.s I'm not really a fan of using very dark colours, but I hope it looks okay. X-X

When I saw this piece... I can imagine this old guy speaking like and acting like Jimmy Stewart. He has that gentleness, awesomeness that JS exuded through out his movies.

I think this is my favorite piece in your gallery. You always seem to churn out extensively atmostpheric works, but this just takes the grand prize. I think it helps that you don't use dark colors as often to make this stand out more!

What's the movie about? Do you really recommend it? Judging by this picture, is it a Miyazaki-esque type of film?

I guess I wasn't very clear, and sorry if I misunderstood but this isn't a fanart.
The film is about a family that are forced to live in poverty in the countryside, during their time there the children of the family have a lot of adventures to do with the railway and become local heroes. It is Miyazaki-esque in a way though!

The colours are great. If they were darker it would add spectacularity, probably, but now the picture looks more.. magical.
Besides, the fact that the Conductor is a Wolfhound makes the atmosphere comfortable, even though the weather is wet and cool - he's got the air of the good old. Very nice and calm.
p.s. I haven't seen The Railway Children but now I may watch it.

It looks great! I love the mix of warm light from the lantern and the window and then the cold blue light from the moon. And I haven't heard of that film but I like the design and concept of the character.
