Initially I thought Carlos might look a lot like a young Ricardo Montalban, but his voice is really young sounding... so he got progressively less square-jawed and hunk-y in my mind... but he's perfect to Cecil, obviously.

The person behind him is supposed to be black. The colour scheme of the whole picture is light because there is a strong light source coming from behind them, therefore their skin appears lighter. I really can't explain it any more clearly than this. Thank you for being concerned about this sort of thing because it is important. I will try to make it clearer that he's Hispanic if I ever draw him again.

I'm sorry, but I did not intend to make him look white. I based my version of him on one of my relatives who's from Colombia (and also happens to be called Carlos...) I don't really know what else to say...

oh okay. he just seemed so white to me, and that confused me because hes dark skinned in canon (or at least, cecil mentioned his dark skin once)
