Rovio just aired an Angry Birds Stella episode I boarded! This was the first project I worked with Rovio on, and it's been a great experience ever since!You can check out the episode here:

Haha!Β Since the birds don't speak, they put a heavy focus on facial expression in the storyboards, which I absolutely LOVE!Β

though even if they didn't speak they still had like tone of voice
also even though the birds and pigs are basically blobs with like a face they seemed to have managed some sort of body language too

Wow! So neat you storyboard! My Daddy used to draw storyboards for animations. He even tried to get a job drawing storyboards for Pixar. Didn't work out though unfortunately.Β

Woah, so it was you who made those storyboards/animatics that we watched in the friday afternoon "stand-up meetings" at the studio! 
And yeah, it is true, of all the Stella, AB Toons and Piggy tales storyboards I've ever seen, yours are simply the most awesome!

I'm an animator on shorts and specials, so basically animating all random stuff in 2D, 3D and 2.5D as I call it..
Oh, sure I know him!

Mm.. I can't remember.. I think not. I haven't worked on Stella too much, it's what you've been boarding mostly, right? We did some animation tests for it back in the day, so there is a tiny chance that my animation tests inspired some of the final animations of your episodes! hehe
Would be cool though to animate from your boards! They're so well "animated" already as boards!

Yep! I've mostly worked on Stella, but now they have me helping out on the Angry Birds Toons as well. But those boards won't be as polished. My director doesn't think it needs it, which makes sense because they have some AWESOME animators on ABT, and I'm sure they can plus my boards anyway. Haha!

Oh ye, and the birds of the original flock are easier to recognize by their shapes and sizes, with the Stella birds the colors were really helpful. Too bad I'm not working on the Toons anymore as it's being outsourced almost completely. But I did work on the first season.
If you're curious to see what I've been working on, you can find them on Toons.tv. Toons season 1 I animated some of the first episodes and did key poses for quite a few random episodes. Even I got to do bunch of fx animations for the first shot of the "Pig Plot Potion" hehe. Most of my work can be seen in the Cinematic specials and some episodes of the Piggy tales. In general just about all 2D character animation stuff that is not part of some series is animated by me and one other 2D animator (Eg. AB Transformers cinematic trailer, AB Go trailers, Return to AB Rio, the two Cuppy episodes and the latest "On Finn Ice")Β

Yeah. I never played any of them until I started working for Rovio. I started off with the Stella game, now I'm playing the regular Angry Birds game, and I'm getting a little burnt out as well, but that's probably good because I should spend my time drawing. Haha!
