I constantly do this sort of thing anytime I'm given a pen & can find a scrap of paper, however I've never done it in a restaurant...

It's just a matter of making sure Im always carrying a pen/pencil!
I do remember, many moons ago, using pencils & coasters in the Pub to draw pictures, however the Pencils were just those mini ones you get to play Keno... and stained/warped beer coasters arent the best surface to work on!!!

I remebered how much as a kid i loved to make doodles in the back of the place mats at restaurants, i hope they save them because now they are so friggin' worthy, heheh.
