it only seems that way because there are three of Pana (she's the only one who has costume changes during part one). I count five characters out of thirteen (Pana, her dad, her mom, her sister, and her boss), three of whom have graying blonde hair and four are blood relatives. three have white hair (the Drow, the elderly schoolmaster and the butler), three brown (Wanda, Erick, and Haergrim), and one each salt-and-pepper (Stengal) and red (Sybille). now just because the only black haired and redhead characters are both villains doesn't imply anything, they were randomly assigned (and if I made them both blonde, then there would be seven blondes out of thirteen, which would have been unbalanced)

you should do what I do and make a list of showing how many characters have what color hair. like.... I have 4 blonde characters, 1 black haired character. and I also do that for eye color. the most of my characters have blue hair, and the least is black hair or no hair.
I also do you same for eyes, the most characters I have have green eyes, and the least is red, orange and pink.

I think it's cool when a place is based off a real place. but I think it's cooler is a place is based off of nothing. and it's just really creative. but I know that's really hard.

I had created a parallel realm called Krūn, where I hypothesized the Charrs came from...an extradimensional plane, where these creatures were plentiful and came in many different sizes, in cities that had elevated roads and railroads (trains towed by huge Charr-like creatures). since the realm my story is set in was a shared project (my best friend in high school had the southern half of the continent, the map looked nothing like the one I have in my Gallery), I ran into resistance when I suggested a portal between that world and Krūn to allow unlimited importing of various sizes of Charrs. in retrospect, he may have been right (what would Blackstone be exporting in trade for the Charrs, and how would that impact resources in the shared world?). if I had my way, I would have had living trains, living airliners, living computers (he did allow a living camera, a frog-like creature with one eye bigger than the other which was trained to draw what it stared at quickly and accurately, usually a small portrait for ID cards and such)...I was such a dork back then (and still am...hee!)

I've been slacking back in April, for about two weeks, I popped out a chapter a day of the first draft, then it became a chapter every other day...by late May, I was lucky to squeeze out a chapter a week. in my defense, I had almost no +Watchers until around the 20th of May, so I had nothing to do but watch everyone else's wonderful galleries and kick myself and say "aw geez, lookit all that...I gotta do SOMEthing" so it was a great motivator to bust a hump and get it out there. now that most of the first draft is out there, I started getting critiques, and when I re-read my older stuff, I realized...they need work...sometimes pretty seriously...that's why the first draft stopped at chapter 29, I had to fix some glaring omissions, some awful grammar/composition violations, and to generally make a half-cooked hamburger more palatable then, I met some writer deviants, and some have SEVERAL BOOKS of multiple chapters each I am a slug...I'll never catch up to them, but at least I hope to finish one book, make it as enjoyable as possible, then I'll probably start a new one

I though Stengal looks more like this: www.tierfotograf.com/media/600…
His siblings certainly look way younger than him. A bald head with mustache is perhaps reminding me of men in the age of 40. And Johann von Hemstedt... is probably even old enough to die anytime he falls asleep.

a weasel...
I have to apologize for the anachronism, Stengal is the only one of the four that appears in the current time frame, so is shown as he appears now; his siblings and von Hemstedt only appear in chapter 2 rev 1, in a flashback scene that took place 23 years ago. in the current, Stengal is 55 years old, Sybille is 45, Erick is 43, and von Hemstedt is 60; so in the flashback, Stengal was only 32 years old, Sybille was 22, Erick was 20, and von Hemstedt was 37 (his beard shouldn't be white...er, let's just pretend it's a current day pic ) I think I'm going to revise this set, break it up between current day and chapter 2 flashback...
D'OH, I forgot to make Lord Heizmall! he is the same age as von Hemstedt, so only 37 when he ascended to the throne in chapter 2 rev 1, a rather young commander of the army! no wonder the other generals felt comfortable yelling at him about the orders they all got...another prodigy, eh?
