Another contest entree, this one for .
Possibly some of you are noticing a trend in the sort of contests I enter... xD;;

I think this is the first anthro character I've ever drawn too. :/
To be honest, I never really got the whole anthro thing. Nothing against the art form, but I just don't get the point. *likes animals just fine without human bits* xD I tried though.

Anyway, here's the rest of the entree:

-Crocuta Lau
- Born in 2076 to a proud team of geneticists, Cro was to become part of the new poor class as the regular poor people had a nasty habit of dying from the brutal conditions they toiled under. Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but after a drug-resistant plague decimated the working class the upper class found themselves missing most of their support base. Oh my, what to do?
Many solutions were put forward, the most popular(for the elite, anyway) was to simply create a new species that better fit their needs.
Many human hybrids were created; wolves, birds, cats, lemurs, etc. then released into the city's underworld.

Of course, the upper class wasn't aiming to create a "better" human, they wanted an obedient proletariat that wasn't quite so prone to dying.
To keep their new pets from rebelling, they intentionally made them flawed. Some are little smarter than their animal "parent", others are incapable of speech, can't visualize the future, or are cripplingly loyal.
And all of them have life spans much shorter than a normal human, 30 is considered old.

Cro has lived in the city for about 7 years, but doesn't care to hold a job. Instead, he wanders about doing odd jobs, dumpster diving, and living in empty apartments until he gets thrown out. The vagrant life suits him well.

-why he looks how he does? There's currently a severe shirt shortage. The goat hybrids ate them all. :[
-what kind of animal hes mixed with, mutated into or turning into? Spotted hyena.
-what sort of personality does he have? Lazy and kind of non-confrontational; he'd rather not get into fights, particularly not with girls.
-how do other people react to him? Hyena hybrids have a bad reputation, they're believed(sometimes with reason) to eat anything, including dead people. The stereotype is widespread enough that he gets nasty looks while walking around and isn't allowed in some businesses(particularly morgues).
-are there more people like him? Yup, they're scattered about. Maybe 1 out of every 50 people in the lower city is a hyena hybrid.
-what time period does he live in? Almost a century in the future.
-where does he live? In the city slums.
