Description "Spain had earlier foolishly entered the war on the side of France". Tsk tsk Antonio, you should have known better (he always loses to England)
Taken from my Canadian History textbook, from the Seven Years War, when France lost their claims in Canada to Great Britain.

They got their revenge on us by helping the British traitors in 12 of the 13 American colonies beat the British to  gain Independence (it was 12 because Florida always stayed loyal to Britain).

Shortly afterwaeds the fledgling USA tried to invade Canada and they failed spectacularly. I wondered if the USA were doing this to give the territory to France.

Meanwhile 25 years later in Europe, Britain redressed the balance by fighting and destroting the Napoleonic empire with the help of allies, something we all laugh about today.

Interesting fact ... the biggest landowner in the USA is the Queen of England and Great Britain.

In class, one day, we were learning about WWII and how Germany invaded Russia, and it took so much to keep from laughing.
