The shading is good but maybe not goop it up in one place, it will look more natural if you use more refined shadows. You can look at shading tutorials for that. I used to do the same thing and with practice you can refine the whole piece. For the face missing, I like the idea. The shoulders and chest seem proportional to your style and if you keep working you'll improve greatly.
