This is what happens when you don't plan things. You get these incredibly awkward-sized pictures and then people have to squint to see things.
Like, what is Rai's scarf even doing. It's defying some sort of wind direction laws. If my lame background confuses you, some of those blobs are clouds. Some of those blobs are other Skrays. I just wanted to doodle a Skray. Stop judging me. OTL
Random notes:
- Skrays are the unique mounts of the Sky Knights of the Gryphos Clan.
- It's more or less impossible to learn how to ride one if you can't control wind to some degree.
- Sky Knights and their Skrays bond very closely because when you're being hurtled through the sky strapped to each other, it's probably a good idea not to be doubting the other's choices and abilities.
- Being crazy is probably a good trait to have too.
- Most Skrays only allow their rider to ride them. Some Skrays will also develop a soft spot for their rider's family and occasionally let them hitch a ride.
- Standard Skray riding form is lying down on your stomach.

As a fun little tidbit: Stormrider was an amazing Sky Knight.

Your dialogues are always an interesting read, I love how the phrases you build are filled with their personality quirks.
Skray's eyes are so shiny! And Tamago's apathic expression in a potentially deadly flight is as amusing as it can be! Rai... how did things end like that? lol
Btw, rays were never the fastest animals in the ocean in my eyes. How fast can a Skray go?

Wellllll. Normal rays in water travel about 40 km/hour, I think...which is most certainly not the fastest marine creature. I'd like Skrays to be at least double/triple that

I don't think I've said it, but I praise the creativity for picking unusual animals for a ride. I'm too tired of birds and dragons, but couldn't really see a way out~
From this angle, I can't really tell Rai's state of mind. I'd guess he looks calm... Mayhaps throwing a death glare at Tamago?

Lol, if I remember correctly the rationale behind using rays was that when their riders inevitably made the suicidal decision to start barrel rolling like it's going out of style, the ray could curl its 'wings' around the gryphane in question to prevent an extremely jilted Physics from hurling them into the void. Well that and the concept of a rayburrito's worth implementing the creatures all on its own.

I can't get over how... alien-like creepy the Skray's face is. Keep it like that. Creep the sh*t out of everyone. How do you "unturn"? Try to go straight again? Isn't lying down on your stomach while airborne kind of uncomfortable? It'd feel pretty freaky, flying through the sky, my head in front, going forward, up and down head first...
Tamago! I didn't know Tamago had a Skray. Does he have other pets? Does he use that Skray often? Possibly for some airborne pranks? And what in the world are they in the sky for (like, how did they end up like that)? Does the rider's family include honorary family members?

Uh. Let's go with numbers.
1) Who the heck is Stormrider?
Stormrider is ------ oh darn. I keep trying to type out the answer, but these weird bars keep getting in the way.

Even IF I wanted to try drawing things cutely, I doubt it would be a success. OTL
3) How do you "unturn"?
Tamago was sort of understating/misunderstanding the Skray's actions. It's actually attempting to do the Skray equivalent of a barrel roll.
4) Isn't lying down on your stomach while airborne kind of uncomfortable?
It's safest to ride on your stomach and the easiest way to strap someone in. Skrays fly their fastest with their riders flat against them too. You're also a bigger target by sitting or standing. Trying to climb back onto your Skray after getting knocked off its back while dangling off your harness a couple thousand feet off the ground isn't exactly easy. That is, of course, if your enemy wasn't particularly accurate and didn't cut you out of your harness before knocking you off.
That's not to say people don't stand or sit on them. It's easier to fight upright for sure.
Like I said, being crazy is a plus in this occupation.
5) Tamago questions:
Tamago doesn't have a Skray. That's not Tamago's Skray. It's somebody else's Skray. Most, if not all Skrays belong to those of the Gryphos Clan. An experienced Skray rider would know how to turn a Skray.
The rider's family includes whoever the Skray identifies as family. Skrays are smart.
A Skray also isn't really a pet, much like how a war horse isn't a pet.
6) And what in the world are they in the sky for?

I think the size of the picture is fine. And the background is more than fine: I can tell the difference between clouds, Skrays, and what looks like gliding-falling.
I was going to say you might have captured Rai's scarf right when it was flapping in some weird direction, but...I can't deny it's defying the direction of the wind. Will you edit this, or is this more of a concept sketch to put ideas down?

XD I don't think I'll be editing it. Rather, I don't really have the skill to make it what I want. If anything, it's probably always best to just do another better picture sometime down the road when my abilities get better.
And yep...like most of these, it just started as random doodling/conceptual stuff/world-character building etc.

Yeah, I agree that it's probably better to do another picture/doodle/sketch - I'd be too lazy to go back and edit it. XD; And it's nice to be able to compare sometimes.
