Description Based off a theory I once had that the legend of the Lernaean Hydra was inspired by some kind of misinterpreted octopus sighting.

• Lots of snakelike heads = tentacles.
• Whenever one of said heads is cut off, two grow in its place = the stump of a severed tentacle is still alive on account of being connected to the body and the severed tentacle tip can move independently .
• Central head cannot be killed by decapitation, so it gets smashed with a rock = the "central head" is the actual body of the octopus so while having all its tentacles amputated is painful and will probably kill it eventually because it can no longer move, it won't die immediately, hence the need for alternate measures.
• Extremely venomous = yes .

Having came up with said train of thought, I felt obliged to draw a Hydra with cephalopodic as well as serpentine traits. Even then, I tweaked things a bit. The tentacles are tipped with vaguely snakelike heads and the fangs of said heads are independently mobile . Combined with the eyes being mounted on short stalks like chameleon eye turrets and they can flex against each other and function as something like rudimentary hands.
