B won out last time so here's the next scene....

She has to be lying, the snake would have eaten them all already. Kasumi shut out Karin's continued cries for help as they grew more distant with each passing second. If only the woman had showed the same kindness she had, she might have felt differently. As it stood however, Kasumi was more than willing to abandon her and continue her search for Ayane. "At least you'll be with your friend." The shinobi whispered with a stoic voice before searching for an entrance into the manor.

"No, no! Wait!" Karin wailed as she watched her only hope of rescue sauntered away, leaving her victim to the serpent. "Not like this!" Karin could feel her hips begin to enter the snake's throat, half her body already swallowed whole. She grabbed at its mouth with her hands in an attempt to stave off being devoured, but her screams disappeared into the bushes of the maze.......

It took only a short time to find an entrance into the main hall of the manor as the first door Kasumi came across was unlocked. The security around here is nonexistent. Please be okay Ayane... Her thoughts lingered on her sister's well being as she entered the building, a chill crawling down her spine as though something were waiting for her. She wished she still had her wakizashi, but it had been damaged by the snake along with her uniform before. The light inside the manor was dim, and the place appeared deserted save for a massive pod at the base of the stairs across the room. "What is that?" Kasumi asked aloud, disturbed by the sight of something so alien. Almost as if in response something began emerging from the below its flaps...

"Gah!" The inside of the pod had finally drained, allowing her to breath for the first time in what felt like hours. "What happened?" A foreign voice said from within, unrecognizable to its owner. She pushed aside the flaps of the egg with a hand covered in what appeared to be vines, illuminating her new form with the dim light of the main hall. Kokoro had thought she would die within the pod when she passed out, it was the only logical conclusion. Instead she has undergone some kind of mutation, emerging as a mutant possessing an exotic beauty.

"What's happened to me?" She asked herself, her new voice melodic and yet inhuman at the same time. Kokoro had retained her flowing black hair, but the rest of her body had changed to a gray hue and been wreathed in vines. "I've become this thing because Lara abandoned me..." She growled, her now jet black eyes burning with rage. Whatever mutated her had melted away Kokoro's gentle nature and supplanted it with a new view of the world. "I'll make her pay for this! You'll pay for this, Lara!" Kokoro screamed, a piercing wail that cracked the stained glass windows above the staircase. She was astonished by this new ability at first, but bewilderment was soon replaced with an arrogant understanding that she had become something more than human.

"Whoa!" Kasumi gasped as she witnessed the glass shatter from the banshee's wail. It can talk, whatever it is. I don't think it knows I'm here. Kasumi thought whatever the thing was might be unaware of her presence, but this belief was dashed by a sharp glance in her direction. "You. Where did he take her?" The creature asked in an enchanting voice, the sounds almost like music to Kasumi's ears. "Uh...what? Take who where?" She replied, disoriented by the remark. "That clay monstrosity took Lara and Drake somewhere, I need to know where." It questioned once more, stepping out of the pod to reveal its nude form. Kasumi almost became enraptured by the sound of her voice, fighting its hypnotic power with every ounce of willpower she possessed. I need to do something or else whatever's happening to me will take over...

A) Attack this new creature before she can hypnotize Kasumi, something about the sound of her voice is rapidly putting the shinobi under her spell. (40% chance of success)

B) Try to flee the hall before Kasumi is hypnotized, she doesn't want to risk fighting anything unarmed just yet. (70% chance of success)

C) Attempt to parlay with the woman like creature, she doesn't appear dangerous and Kasumi might be able to obtain an ally in such an unlikely place. (55% chance of success)

Kokoro has finally returned, and she has a suite of abilities that will present themselves as the story unfolds....
