Description I got the new DC Signature Collection/Club Infinite Earths Elongated Man the other day and began the process of pics for a review. The main problem was how best to showcase Ralph Dibny: he was a detective who became a superhero, never headlined a solo title and was mostly relegated to backup features and supporting roles, even while a member of the JLA. But because he was good friends with the Flash, it was pretty easy to imagine the two of them going out on adventures like this, and Ralph works as Barry's sidekick here, especially since I don't have any version of Kid Flash to be here (so you'll have to imagine Wally hanging out with the Teen Titans to explain his absence).

This one was a two day process: building the set and then freezing the Flash. I don't know if Captain Cold ever truly froze Barry Allen like this as most of the stories I've read from the Silver Age mostly feature him freezing the ground but Cold was definitely capable of doing so. I wanted to try and emulate a comic book cover as close as possible, so I printed out some backgrounds from Action Figure Theater, did the freezing, then the posing, then shooting to get this result. The only thing I'm not proud of is the freeze effect from Cold's gun...that's the only derpy part of this photo I don't like and probably will do something again later with a different result for it.

I also welcomed a break from Batman photography while I recharge my batteries with the Dark Knight...

Wow dude. By the way i'm curious about freezing figures, it can damage them or not?

It'll just change their paint for a bit...after freezing Flash I didn't touch any of his limbs for fear of breaking anything, and after I was done I ran hot water over the ice to get him out, then let him dry on his own. The figure's been fine since then with no issues thank goodness. I probably wouldn't try this on more fragile figures (Toy Biz Marvel Legends) but I think DCUC figures are fairly durable to the change in temp.

Put on ICE by Mr. Freeze?
A CHILLING situation for the Flash!
Will Elongated man be able to REACH him in time?
Don't get left out in the COLD, tune in next week for the conclusion.
Same Flash time, same Flash channel!

The freeze effect is actually what I like about this.
It's like those big "POW!" signs that would come up on the old Adam West Batman show, so cheesy yet so fun.

I think what bothers me is that I didn't do a good enough job cleaning it up so it looks a little more natural. I erased the line where you can't see that I combined two different effects but it still could have been a lot neater in the long run.

But thanks for the comparison to the Adam West Batman. Love that show
