Fifteen down, fifteen to go...

Its hard to imagine that we're almost a full decade removed from Heath Ledger's career defining role as the Joker in Nolan's THE DARK KNIGHT. As much as Ceaser Romero's portrayal was fit for the 60s and Jack Nicholson's was fit for the late 80s (both having inspirations from how the Joker was presented in their various eras) Ledger's was almost a complete 180 from what had come before. For one thing, unlike the famous Nicholson portrayal in Burton's BATMAN the audience knows nothing about this Joker. Mysterious, anarchic, chaotic...frankly by the movie's end we in the audience still know nothing about what the Joker's main motivation was for bringing so much hell to Gotham City, much as it should be.

I have a friend who always does a lot of cinematic pieces like this and our styles kind of overlap. So I went into this project with the intention of doing service to how he shoots his figure arts while also stretching my own artistic endeavors with "special effects" and an attempt at matching the lights and shadows Nolan applied.
