Description Harley Quinn...that inimitable creation of Paul Dini and Bruce Timm's who somehow took over the world from the moment of her first appearance on the Batman: Animated Series episode "Joker's Favor" (also coincidentally the Joker's first appearance in the DC Animated Universe), with what was initially the amount of a walk-on role to give Joker a break in the action to concentrate on tormenting his victim. Initially voiced by Arleen Sorkin--who also provided Harley with her personality and was also a model for the character--Harley grew in importance with each appearance on the show, always with a dark sweetness whenever she popped up with "Hello Mistah J!" or "Hey puddin!" Harley's popularity kickstarted several other characters originally created for the Timmverse shows to appear elsewhere in the mainstream DC Comics universe, with Renee Montoya, Live Wire, and Roxy Rocket joining her later on. Her later partnership and friendship with Poison Ivy provided yet another dimension to the character, creating the two as Gotham's own "Thelma and Louise" or a female equivalent to Laurel and Hardy, with Harley taking on the dumb blonde role and Ivy being her straight man (a solo comic, probably from the Gotham Girls web series, has a very distinguished cover that establishes this relationship perfectly well). But springing from Gotham Girls, fans were treated to the first steps towards establishing Harley as her own character, instead of the Joker's sidekick, an experiment that has often worked well with her sometimes being an ally to Barbara Gordon/Oracle as part of the Birds of Prey, a mercenary, and an anti-hero at work for the Suicide Squad. But at her core, Harley will always be associated with her "puddin".

This is Harley's classic look, transplanted from the cartoons to the comics (she made her first DCU appearance during the "No Man's Land" storyarc in 1999 in a stand-alone graphic novel) and one that didn't require any updating until 2011, when DC rebooted her look and followed suit with an appearance modeled more closely after the popular Arkham video games. Margot Robbie is set to portray the character in next year's Suicide Squad film, which will also see her pair off with Jared Leto as a new incarnation of the Joker. While the film seems like it still has some hairy moments and choices (Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang...who thought that was a good idea) Robbie's Harley Quinn looks to be one of the bigger positives of the film's casting and clearly one that could steal the show from Leto and Will Smith's Deadshot.

Ah' good ol Harley. Everyone loves her and her Jersey accent, or is it NY? Just love how popular she became straight out of the animated series.Β

When I was a kid I associated the accent with being from NY (Brooklyn since Bugs Bunny allegedly came from there too) but since actually meeting people from NJ (East NJ that is) I can say there could be a case for either as an explanation for her accent lol.

But yeah! Its amazing how insanely popular she got out of the cartoons. Β Almost like how Paul Dini breathed new life into Zatanna when he introduced her in the episodes she was in (he's married to a real life Zatanna...seriously! look up his wife Misty Lee, spitting image of her!)

What I wanna do is get the S.H. Figuart of Harley Quinn. I think it's based on how she appeared in Injustice Gods Among Us, and I think it's a pretty good look on it's own

That's one I'm eyeballing too, that and the DCC Suicide Squad version based on I think Arkham Origins. I've also got the upcoming DC Icons Harley in this same outfit on preorder due to be released in February.

I wanna get the DC Icons Batman at the very least. The Animated series Batman figure is kind of a let down. I'm gonna wait til I see a review of it though.

Also I kinda keep thinking the figures are like Marvel Icons and are 12 inches tall. lol Some look okay, and some look better than others. Although the Superman is gonna have to be really impressive for me to not get the NECA Christopher Reeves one

Look on youtube, there's a review up of the Icons Batman. I haven't gotten any of the Animated Series figures yet, keep meaning to at least but I haven't pulled that trigger yet on them. I think Shartimus Prime did a review of it too.

The Icons Superman probably depends on how you're feeling moodwise, since its based on John Byrne's Man of Steel era Superman (the listing says Man of Steel so that could mean its based on either Byrne's artwork, Ordway's, or even Jose Garcia Luis-Lopez who also worked on that title). It was supposed to come with a heat vision head along with the extra hands and L-Ron but I think the head got axed.

No, Sharimus is gonna have a review of it up tomorrow. Said sos in his PO box pick ups video today.

Well going on design alone the Superman looks cool. Real good, but you can't beat Christopher Reeves dude. Even at 7 inches
