Trying to do some new work for my portfolioTurian based loosely on the original study in the mass effect books plus some inspiration from a sculpture by Jordu Schell.
I'm not a concept artist, so i tried to find something that I could sculpt from. Even though i'm an environment modeler by preference, i couldn't think of anything to sculpt in zbrush that was strictly environment based! sooo... here you go. turian.
I need to do some work with the stamp to do detail scale texture work.

Not only is this beautiful in the Zbrush way, but you could say it made an art project in high-school art so much more fun. <3
The project I'm currently working on is a clay sculpture. Now, when it comes to clay, I'm quite unimaginative (my heart goes out to plasticine). So I decided to not do something original and do a turian bust instead.
And my little joy at the idea would've been crushed if it wasn't for this Zbrush'd turian ya did~ Teacher would not have let my scupt if I didn't have something that showed various angles of the subject, and so this did it~
So I am eternally grateful for you making my art class more enjoyable. (And for indirectly creating the funniest memories of me going hysterical when my turian's head fell off while working on him) <3

Yeah totally! I would love to some weekend. Right now I'm trying to keep my weeks busy with comic work and hang out on the weekends but I also got some cosplay work that's going to be eatin some time. I'll try and find a open weekend in the future and let you know. =3

I also studied classic sculptures in the museums to see what they noticed about the human figure, and i got a few books on sculpting polymer characters from amazon. :3

I am in awe and have mad envy of how effortlessly you seem to be picking this entire zbrush thing up. I've tried it and felt so clumsy.

i think if you tried it you'd probably pick it up too. Sculpting "feels" the same to me no matter what medium i'm using. i know the shape i need to make, it's just figuring out what tools to make to get the shape I need.

You should try a doing one of a female turian! *nod nod* And would it be okay if I used this as a reference to draw Garrus nekkid? XD I need an excuse to draw him nekkid and my excuse is "does he have many scars under all that armor?" lmao

If they are like birds, i'd speculate that female turians are planer, look very similar, and possibly bigger than the males. XD
