This is a color photography which can appeared trivial at first glance, but there's something in it that immediately catch my eye. It shows a woman reading in a bath, and the feet of her friend, probably the photographer. A very intimate moment, that kind of intimity you don't want to steal, but here offered by the artist.
The composition is very rich and powerful, with the edges of the tub giving strong lines to the picture. Within these directions, the feet and the book make a frame for the reader, and the sandals mirror the position of the feet in the darker part of the picture. This reinforces the close-up effect of the shot : we really share the moment with these two persons.
The lighting is natural and gives a very soft white, and adds softness to the scene, as the subtle blur. Is it the blur of memories of such rare and delicate instants ? I feel it this way, and really loves this photography...
