Description My own interpretation of SCP-745, the Headlights.

I love depictions of 745 that incorporate dromaeosaurine design elements, and I wanted to emulate that aesthetic with my own design. However, I do have just a few beefs. Not many of the raptor-styled 745 designs incorporate the "child-like front paws" and "non-carbon-based genetic structure" mentioned in the article, and often too closely resemble real-world dromaeosaurids despite their presumably alien physiology. I wanted to see what I can do about this otherwise clever design scheme. I gave SCP-745 the general silhouette of a dromaeosaurid, but instead of feathers, it has coarse, black fur that absorbs light, and instead of the typical dromaeosaurine forelimb structure, it has disturbingly humanesque arms and forepaws, which leave distinctive "child-like handprints" as described by the article. To reflect the "non carbon based genetic structure" I applied a Gigeresque appearance to SCP-745, with biomechanical elements on its skin.

I do have a personal headcanon regarding SCP-745's biology. I'd like to think that SCP-745 is a silicon-based organism that, in addition to feeding on elements vital to its own silicon-based physiology, consumes human flesh to power the rest of its vital processes via internal combustion, similar to how a car runs on fossil fuel. In place of a heart, it has a "second stomach" that burns ingested human flesh, producing electricity that is distributed across the body via a network of "biological circuitry" made of gold and other metals. The true stomach is in itself powered by the "fuel" stomach, and is dedicated to digesting elements vital to its physiology to reuse for its own biological tissues. SCP-745 cannot survive off of either stomach alone, and must consume both organic and inorganic matter to live healthily. If it lives on human flesh alone, it will become malnourished to to the lack of its own vital elements in its diet, and subsequently die of starvation. If it feeds on just vital elements, and not human flesh (or any other combustable carbon-based organic material), it will eventually run out of fuel, become weak, and die in a manner not unlike cardiac arrest.

SCP-745 was written by Sorts, and the visual style of my depiction is based on the works of H.R. Giger.

There’s a tale involving these things on the site that reveals 745's true motives.

That literally does not exist. I tried looking for it.

It looks like it’s trying to rescue those caught in crashes it failed to prevent, & the lights are meant to be a warning of an imminent crash.

i bet these creatures existed back in prehistory where they attacked hominids in the darkest of nights, but the creatures would only have appeared in the rarest of times, also due to convergent evolution these Headlight creatures probably evolved to resemble raptors.

plus one thing about 745 that hasn't been answered yet: how do these biomechanical raptors catch human prey traveling in cars?, do they smash the glass, open the door manually with their hands or do they phase like ghosts?.

One probably tears apart the engine while the other smashes through the windows.

This thing looks like a xenomorph that popped out of one of the raptors from Jurassic Park.

super awesome!, i wonder how you might do SCP-682... it's like a typical reptile monster, but there are some canons in which indicate the Hard To Destroy Reptile might be a part of The Scarlet King, which is an extradimensional horror deity.

682 will definitely be a fun one. I'll see what I can do about him.

i'll wait for the super indestructible eldritch reptile.

by the way i love your speculative descriptions on SCP that you started doing this month, it makes the creatures/things less "anomalous", maybe the Headlights monster is only anomalous because it's a silicon lifeform on this world while every other normal lifeform is carbon-based anyways.

My intent was not to make them less anomalous, just to give my depiction of them.

one more thing, looks like you forgot to add the tiny texts indicating the features on the Headlights, same with the Humans Refuted monster.
