Description

Wasn't feeling the magpie anymore, so decided to go prehistoric with a fake Troodon species, that my buddy Crossroadsking  coined as a Troopie. So meet Ttoks! Markings are based loosely off a magpie. Everything else is on the character sheet.

Still undecided whether I want to give him an anthro form or not.

This sona of yours is a real charmer. ;D I always love it when a creature boasts another animal's markings/color scheme, and you applied that concept flawlessly to this guy. Troopie is the most adorable species name in the history of ever. Sounds pretty legit, actually. I'd love to see an anthro version, but hey, that's completely up to you (-cough-wouldhaveaneasiertimedrawingit-cough-).

Thank you so much! I've always been a huge fan of creatures with real life animal markings, they were among the first things I drew as a young creature designer. And my friend is actually responsible for coming up with the Troopie name, but it is way too cute not to use (and treepies are gorgeous corvids that exist today so it's not too far off the mark haha).

You're like the fifth person to tell me they'd draw Ttoks if he had an anthro form xD I'm just lazyyyyy and wanted to practice my dino anatomy more so I made him feral. (That and I can't for the life of me figure out how to stick a tail with the flexibility of a fishing pole on the ass end of an anthro raptor in a way that makes me happy eheh)

Oh my gosh - I definitely would love to see an anthro form. He and Bladewind woudl get along great I like too, that the personality is somewhat like the magpie itself.

Hahaha I've been debating making an anthropomorphic form for him, but then I think about modifying his armfeathers and his tail to let him stand upright like a human and I weep lol His personality is a mirror image of mine lmao There's a reason I like magpies so much!

I think magpies are pretty entertaining little birds - we have a lot of them where I live. If you ever want a sketch of an anthro version of him, let me know! Maybe next time I do a warmup sketch I could play with him.

I grew up around a lot of magpies until the town council let farmers trap them. Their numbers dropped to basically nothing in no time and they steered clear for years after. It wasn't until I moved to my current city of residence that I fell in love with them again, because they're absolutely everywhere!

((Also answered your inquiry about anthro Ttoks on your Journal, hope that's alright!))
