I was watching the episodes on The Hub last night..the one where Kaiba first beats Jou...and he starts talking about how Pegasus has "a stronger magic" than the 'Heart of the Cards' It sounded so strange, knowing that during most of the series, they seemed to almost bend over backwards to make him a skeptic...

Ah! I like that! It's funny. But it's also one of the reason I now prefer the japanese version.
In the american/frech version, Kaiba is ALWAYS saying that, and stay stubborn that way to the point of ridicule, even at the end. And in the DOMA Arc, he only want hos society back. In the japanese version, even if he's still a jerk, he's slowly changing. He wants to help them saving the world in the DOMA Arc and believe it, albeit, reluctantly in the end.
