Thank you for your answer ^ ^

Eh, mine [link] looks alright, but nowhere near as great as your's.
I recently fixed up some salt dough to sculpt an eye for the next one I make. However, the base will still be paper...

Holy heck that's paper? @-@ That looks so cool! 8D
And paper's not bad; I made a Millennium Rod out of cardboard and paper and it worked out XD

Yeah, it's paper. Thanks.
I made a miniature Millennium Rod out of a foam sheet, skewer, and Christmas bulb several years ago. =Fail.

HELPS A LOT!! Thank you!! <3 <3 <3
The upcoming convention, my cousins and one of my cousin's gf were going to (hopefully) do a YGO group.
I'm going to be Yami Yugi(Atem). All I gotta do now is hope I can do the wig. T___T
My cousins and the one's gf get it easier.

do you get the plywood from a hobby/craft shop or a hardware store?
i want 2 make my own puzzle because the one my uncle made for me years ago got smashed. i'm good at modelling, so i thought this would be a good project.
was it hard to make?
awesome work, by the way! awesome of awesomeness detail!

Oh!
So impressive!
You have reason to be proud of this!
Would you loathe to tell me the measurements you used?
Me and a friend are aspiring YuGiOh cosplayers on a mission.
Was it made from plywood, or different?
Either way, it's marvelous!

NakuShiryou In reply to Bayleef- [2008-12-03 19:58:06 +0000 UTC]
It's alright!
There's no time limit (infact, we have a little TOO much time).
I could be patient for weeks on end, I'm sad to say.
Ah, plywood. The mother of all home made cosplay props (along with cardboard, styrofoam, and paper mache).
I hope we'll be able to pull this thing off as well as you did!
Purely as one cosplayer to another, could I ask a question?
I believe you've cosplayer Yami or Yugi before (if not, then completely ignore the rest of this and go about your life).
Well, me and a friend are planning on cosplaying the two (someday in the future) but it sometimes seems like we're the only two people in the world who like YuGiOh and that we might be blungeoned to death for even attempting.
So I was just wondering how your experience was, if it's not too personal to ask.
Thanks for you time either way!

Haha, well that's good! I'll be going home next Monday if not sooner, so I'll let you know then ok?
I'll also try and find the walkthrough I used... I changed the measurements and some of the process around to make it a bit easier but it's all you'll need to make it really
Haha, very true! If all else fails, Paper Mache and cardboard will save the day!
Haha, yup, I cosplayed a very poor attempt of Atem And to be honest, it was a great experience! Loads of fun and got a fair few complements even from people who didn't know the series There are a lot more fans out there that you'd think (Cause they're in hiding XD); if you'e going to a convention then checking out the forums is a good place to find out if there are other YGO cosplayers (there usually are) and you'll be set
I know it can be off-putting being a fan of something that gets so abused, but cosplay is all about having fun! Personally, I've never had a problem with bashers, but if you do just ignore them, cause they're jealous of your cosplays XD

I'm so glad you've agreeds to help me in the first place!
You really are a lovely person, and I'm glad to wait any amount of time.
I'm hoping not to turn to the cardboard cutout backup plan, useful though it may be in a tight spot.
I'm so relieved that you had a wonderful time.
I'm still abit nervous, which is to be expected I would suppose, but I'm at least a bit more at ease now.
And definitely take your advice about bashers.
Though if they start to bash my Yugi partner, then this Yami might have to pull out a Mind Crush or two, perhaps starts a few shadow games...
>D
Or, you know, I might just tell my mommy.

It's alright! All the time in the world over here.
And in time for Christmas! A lovely gift, then.
Thank you so much for your links!
I don't know if there would be any boards here.
Florida is the arm pit of civilization, I'm sad to say.
And what do you mean, no fire? It's not a good punishment if there's no fire. D;
And while I was waiting for you to reply, my Yugi sent me a link to all these hilarious works of art that were just adorable. We both end up quoting some of the comics/jokes daily.
So can you imagine my surprise when I looked up one shizzle-fine-dizzle day and saw ~Bayleef at the top of a picture she had sent me?
So while I'm at it, I just wanted to say I love your work.
And though it may be a long while before our cosplays are complete, be sure that one of Yugi's cosplay props will definitely be a muffin.
The question is: what kind?!?! **suspense**
