A good image should tell a story. A great image might suggest more than one. I like the tension implicit in this image - the two warriors are obviously prepared for whatever awaits them. At the same time, there is sufficient ambiguity about what exactly they are going to do that the viewer can imagine their own story and outcome. There is a sense of anticipation, excitement, determination, perhaps a question as to the outcome. You've done a great job in capturing all of that and still leaving the door open for the viewer's own interpretation of what comes before or after.

The detail is incredible. It looks like a still from a movie scene. I really like the contrast of light and dark, both in the environment with shadow and light and in the coloring of the figures' armor. You've done a good job of balancing the image without making it look static. Subtle differences in posture, expression, the color palettes chosen to represent each figure, and even the different hairstyles - all those things imply differences in outlook and personality while showing unity of purpose. There are powerful subtle balances as well - such as the bright white and cyan lights over the left shoulder of the darker figure that balance the blue and white of the lighter figure's armor.

There are a two imperfections in technique that I noticed and would like to point out. Their faces are a little dark and seem a bit flat to me. Some lighting from one side or another or perhaps from underneath to lighten their faces generally and create some interesting shadows would be helpful.

This next point is so minor that I hesitate to mention it but there is also some figure self-intersection evident between the inner legs of the darker character. This would not have been evident put for the lights on the inner thighs and the comparison with the lighter figure where you can see distinct shadows and reflections in the armor on his thighs that is missing from the darker figure. Moving the legs slightly apart would likely fix this problem.

This is a really well-done piece! Highest marks from me! Just a few points off for technique which is still very very good - but not perfect.

it would be interesting to make some parts of the suite invisible in the surface tab if possible, so the skin is visible.

The blue and red parts for example.

What suit/clothes is/are this?

I think how you critique someone as proficient as yourself all comes down to what you, yourself wanted to say with the scene. I don't know that so I'll tell you what I see and feel.

Their position in the scene gives a sense of constriction, it makes me feel uncomfortable and slightly claustrophobic, they appear to be moving from a bright, more open space to a dark, scary place. This is quite powerful, in that, it causes me to empathise with the sense of danger that they must be feeling. No matter how ready they are going into a mission they must be scared too. You could say they were doing the opposite of being born. As twins they came into the world together and it appears they're going through another, metaphorical, reverse birth into a forbidding, cramped space. The slightly unbalanced posing of the twin on the right is emphasising is sense of trepidation. Even the brother on the left, though he appears to be about to step forward, his balance is more backwards as if startled, recoiling somewhat from the dark room he's about to enter.

So, if that's what you wanted from the scene then you nailed it! You could just emphasise that more by a bit of postwork darkening the foreground or reducing the lighting in the area in front of them or take it further by making them almost silhouette. Then the title has an irony about it.

Of course, if that's not what you wanted then do the opposite.

Thank you for this feedback. I take it to heart and I am glad that you got the impression that you did. Everyone views art differently and often times receive different messages in what they're seeing. Your thoughts are appreciated and I will use it to learn and improve on pieces that I work in in days to come.Β

Yay!!! My favorite twins! It's like having a piece of apple pie! (apple is my favorite)
You don't make them often, but when you do it's a nice treat.Β

I have seen modern day AAA video games that wasn't as good in quality as this. It really is amazing I could stare at it for hours.

Well, Baylien, as the other folks have said, I too don't feel right giving a critique. I just refuse to do those things, and I don't feel like I'm capable enough or correct enough to give it. But one thing that stands out to me is the detail of the background pulling attention away from Damek and Kaelec who I think look great. I think a slight depth-of-field to blur the background would probably thrust these two more to the foreground. I love their outfits and how they look, and as I've said before I think they look better on the G8 bodies. I'm not about to hate on G2 but the G2 bodies and bends just are not agreeable with me. There's a lot of grays and reflective surfaces and their suits do somewhat blend with the background. I really like how they look, especially viewed full size.

I too don't feel I am deserved to leave a critique as I am not an artist.
But I really love your work and this is stunning.

My only thoughts were that maybe the background could be muted a bit so theΒ impressive Β figures stand out even more.
And seeing their handsome faces a little more clearly would be spectacular.
thanks so much.

Thank you very much for this input. It's so very important to me as I want to improve with every render I create. Flaws are just as important to point out as feats. That you took time to offer your thoughts means a great deal. Thank you!

Hmm, I'm not going to give a formal critique because I don't know much about rendering or 3D art.Β

I think the general composition is strong, though I might switch their positions. The red guy stands out more, and with his arm raised, I feel it draws a lot more attention to him than the blue guy. The blue guy's colors also match the background more, so he recedes out of view a little bit. I am not sure if there's a way to make his silhouette stronger but I think that would help make him stand out more.

The overall scene is very bright and vivid, but their faces feel dark and kind of muddy in comparison. I feel like a stronger light on their faces would help them a bit more.Β

I really like the armor design and how shiny it is! That helps bring the two men forward more, which I feel is a good thing!
