Description Wolf O'Donnell

Franchise: Star Fox

Wolf is merciless, brutal, and cunning, refusing to accept any form of authority, but still possessing the ability to gain loyalty from others. He does not do anything out of the goodness of his heart and only focuses on profiting for himself and his team. Wolf maintains a fearsome rivalry with Fox and is determined to one day kill him but has a grudging respect for him. He also has little patience for anyone he feels he cannot trust as he kicked Pigma out due to the latter's greed and distrustful nature and Pigma's new scars are implied to be from Wolf.

Trivia
Wolf's iconic intro statement in Star Fox 64: "Can't let you do that, Star Fox," has become an internet phenomenon over time. Websites such as Halolz post images of Wolf photo shopped into other images.

Wolf was voiced by Hisao Egawa in the Japanese version of Star Fox 64, Jock Blaney in the English version of 64, Mahito Oba in the Japanese versions of Star Fox Assault and SSBB, Grant Goodeve in the English version of Assault, Jay Ward for the English of SSBB/SSBU and Starlink, Kosuke Takaguchi for the Japanese versions of 463D/Zero and SSBU, and Mike West for 643D/Zero.

Mike West is also the current voices for Fox and Andrew.

Jay Ward's performance for Wolf in Starlink is very reminiscent to Scar from Disney's Lion King.

His last name, O'Donnell, appears to be Irish in origin and may be a reference to the cultural phenomenon of Wolves in Ireland. Wolves are extinct in Ireland, but were important to their culture and are significant to Irish mythology.

He was the final character to be added in Super Smash Bros Brawl.

He was cut from Smash 4 but would return in Smash Ultimate.

His appearance in Brawl was based off his appearance from Star Fox Assault, and his appearance in Ultimate was based off his appearance from Star Fox Zero.

His final smash in Brawl was the landmaster tank just like Fox and Falco's final smash, but in Ultimate his final smash was changed to a dogfight attack scenario with his team just like Fox and Falco's final smash with their team.

Wolf only used the landmaster tank in the multiplayer of Star Fox Assault and Brawl, he has never used it in any of the Star Fox games.

The fact that Wolf is a bounty hunter in Event Match 36 of "Brawl" is exceptionally ironic considering that he himself was the subject of a bounty in "Command".

The staff behind Star Fox planned to create a girlfriend for him, but that was discarded.

It can be clearly seen that he is not a total villain, since he has shown empathy even with his enemies, giving us the impression that he is an antihero, but since the series had its timeline reset in Star Fox Zero Wolf and his team are back to being villains.
