I've been on a serious Howl's Moving Castle kick lately. For realz. I have so many doodles laying around and on my computer.
It's a bit ridiculous. 
So enjoy this lame/simple/dumb drawing of Howl after he gets slime everywhere and Sophie has to try and move him to the bathroom.

So, this piece of artwork inspired me to go find the movie and watch it. So I did. And I was utterly confused. It seems like it's part of something much bigger. But I really couldn't understand it. I just,... does the book shed any light?

It does indeed shed light on it. It's a bit of a different story, but when reading the book you understand the things that the movie was trying to portray but you may not have understood.
Don't worry. I remember the first time I saw the movie (before I read the book) and I was so lost. It will make much more sense if you read the book and then watch it again.
