This is the kind of drawing that makes me want to be a better artist, so that someday my drawings can be even slightly as awesome as this one is. Amazing work, keep doing what you do!
Also, I don't know if there is much coloring to speak of, but very nice choice of color for background, it makes her pop out really well and makes this drawing really pleasant to look at.

i am still kinda miffed though. before his VU it was difficult for a lot of players to play against me because they had never seen a garen before. now everyone has either played him or played against him enough to know everything about him. one of my trump cards is now gone and i have to fall back on actual skill to win games

Yeah. Once riot updated Garen a LOT of people started to pick him in games. I mean, he does look way cooler now and he isn't a champion that's too difficult for players to use.
You should try out a different champion that plays similarly to Garen!
And once the whole 'Garen' hype dies down you can switch back. C:
