Wow, when I saw this I was like "Holy geez that's one awesome Jack Sparrow drawing!"
Anyways, let's begin, shall we?
First of all, the first thing I noticed was that you used a LOT of darks, which is great! It shows contrast and it really makes it stand out!
However, maybe you could have shaded the background darker so then it will be just him that sticks out, not the background. It kind of goes off the page with the face, which may not make your work as effective.
I love your technique of shading and your anatomy seems correct!
Vision: 4.5/5 (For the background)
Originality: 4/5 (I mean, it's a fanart, so it wouldn't be very original, yet you captured his personality very well!)

While you may be lacking in the originality of the design this is a very very accurate depiction of the actor. In fact I was looking at the source picture while writing this and I can only find minor flaws in the lighting, though the heavy lighting increases the rough tone of the overall picture. The line work is superior combined with the tonal depth in the shading. I think it could have been slightly lighter around the gun area since that is suppose to be oiled weather-worn wood. The details in the face are done especially well, like the creases in the eyes. The texture is very good if not a bit muddy though you would have to sacrifice intensity for clarity. As far as pose and composition I have seen this pose done a few times before but not as many times as you would think Still I think an adaptation of the pose would have been better instead of the pose it self but still a very accurate depiction nonetheless. As well as being framed rather well. Overall this is a very appealing work and to the untrained eye it looks damn near perfect in fact to the trained eye it's still quite an exceptional piece.

again these are my own views but I hope that this was helpful if only in the slightest. I generally judge a piece based on the proficiency of the artist to render the work accurately and it's maximum appeal and you have accomplished this in both markets and even gone beyond that to achieve an intensity in this piece. However, it is hard to determine if that is because of the medium you chose or if it is the skill in which you have used the medium, because on it's own charcoal can be quite bold.

Re: the Critique by DaarkGenesis: after looking at his work I see why many critics say, "Those that can do, those that can't teach." I think that it was unfair to nitpick at this wonderful creation. Charcoal? WOW! Being an artist myself, I couldn't even begin to attack your work on a critical level. It's masterful and fresh. Your strokes deliver just the right amount of texture as well as shading. It's incredibly difficult to achieve the darkness that charcoal delivers with graphite. All I get is a lot of shine when I build up the layers to this intensity using pencil. I like the dark fade instead of the dreary details, makes it more mysterious. Anyway, just saying...

This is really stunning, the use of light and dark areas is astonishing, hard to find contrast this bold yet good anywhere. While I'm not a huge Pirates of the Caribbean fan, this picture is still so awesome it's one of the few ones I wish I could fave a dozen times
