Description a photo I took during the morning sunrise

the almost unnatural smoothness is due to the fact that I ran it through neat image as the noise was quite bad..like I've never had such evil noise in my life.
I hope you like...I've been trying to get the right crop for awhile until it hit me like a nugget tonight.

Oooh, very nice. I love the composition; how it's not just a third that's the sand.

thank you and I actually nearly submitted it with it being a lot of sand, it was only after a bit of reinventing did I end up with the sand only being minimal

Yeah, I think you'll find the book provides enough weight so that the sand doesn't need to be a greater area.

What IS it?

Beachrockz4eva In reply to ejayne [2007-11-11 09:33:46 +0000 UTC]

its sand but just out of focus

When I zoom in, the depth of field becomes very shallow

its really the only way my camera can do it (its not a dslr )

looks strange doesn't it, I think the zoom kind of blew it out of proportion

Why would the sand go all bumpy and dark?

I stand by my assumption that i was a book.

well I stand by statement and say tis out of focus sand and I did take the picture after all

and also, why would there be a sand-colour coloured book on the beach during the morning sunrise

i love how most of the picture is blurry and in these soft colours
the use of negative space is great
the athmosphere in this picture is very calm

thank you, Shallow focus requires lots of patience on my camera

the colours almost came out completely different! it was due to multiple discussions that the colour ended up like this
yes it was a quiet morning, quite pretty actually.

Very nice focus. I like how you decided to increase the depth of field. Precise focusing for a composition and subject like this is required, and you executed both perfectly. The colors are subtle, giving this image a very relaxing feeling. Nicely done.

thank you for such a well thought comment

I can tell you that this was quite hard to take and I used telephoto to achieve the shallow depth of field
