It's true! I see a lot of art with Yami Bakura and he is depicted all cute, but dude... he's actually terrifying.

Yeah, exactly! Which means that if you think about it... he's succeeded. Even the audience, who has seen almost every evil and dastardly deed he's ever done, including some the main characters never see, has been fooled into thinking he's just this silly, funny guy who's just misunderstood/going through a three-thousand-year phase.

But really, the guy's a giant troll. Like, he has this whole plan that he begins to implement from the very beginning of the series but we just don't know about it till season 5.

Yeah, exactly! Though I think he doesn't have his plans solidified until Battle City, when the whole Marik situation complicated things, though Marik's control of Bandit Keith gave him the opportunity to sneak a bit of his soul into the Puzzle (a rare opportunity that he took full advantage of). He probably did spend all of Season 4 setting up the final RPG though, which becomes clear when he makes sure Yugi gets all of the Items together.

Yeah, that's true. Marik messed up the plan... or maybe he just added to it? Either way when Yami Marik came out it looked pretty bleak. xD
Probably. That's why we don't see him for so long, he's clearing out all the hobby stores in Japan trying to build a huge board game. xD

What's interesting to me, though, is that it didn't really concern Bakura if Yami Marik was around or not. His goal just required the items and the Pharaoh. He really could have just left Marik to his own devices. If he had let Yami Yugi take care of the issue, that would have been the easiest way, really. But he did risk himself (however temporarily) for Marik, which is one of the reasons why I think there might have been something more between them than just enemies of the same enemy.
I can just imagine Ryou's excitement as he actually gets to go all out and buy EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF MERCHANDISE EVER! And he's not sure where he got all this money for it but by golly is he going to make a masterpiece with all this free time he's had since school mysteriously let out early this year. And he'll wonder why it's so important to him that everything be laid out just so when it's an imaginary world he's creating, but then he'll shrug it off and fix whatever detail he suddenly felt was wrong.

But!! I think Marik had one thing Bakura didn't have, and that was his back carvings. Only the Tombkeepers knew the full scoop on how them items and god cards worked together. It was a lucky break that Y.B. got Marik, otherwise he'd have gotten the items and nothing would have really happened, no? 'Cuz Yugi needed the god cards as well, and from what I remember Y.B wasn't aware they were necessary until Marik told him....
xDDD Someone should really make a comic of just Ryou during the Season 4 arc.
Also, I find it funny how Ryou wakes up in all these strange situations and never remembers huge chunks of his life, yet he never questions it, he just shrugs and carries on. xD

The thing is, I don't think Marik ever actually told Bakura about the god cards. I don't even remember Bakura showing much interest in actually obtaining
the god card from Yami Marik during their duel in comparison with just
fulfilling his agreement with Marik and getting the Rod. I might be wrong since it's been a while since I saw/read that bit, but I think Marik just let Bakura work towards gathering the Items and only told the heroes about the god cards after he reformed. But once the friendship gang knew, they probably would have at least mentioned it to Ryou.
Poor Ryou, lol. We don't actually know if he shrugs it off or if he actually fights back at some point, which is why I really wish we got to see more of him and how he actually gets along with Yami Bakura. Because there are so few scenes with him actually in it, it's really hard to tell how he really feels about him. On one hand, he clearly doesn't want an evil spirit possessing him and threatening his friends, but on the other hand, he does look very genuinely happy whenever he finds the Ring again, and he's most likely not under control during those moments.
So yeah, I think a comic/fanfic about how S4 went for Ryou could actually be really interesting and has a lot of potential for being amazing. O:

No, I don't think he did either. If I remember correctly (and confirmed after ruffling through my manga) that Marik implied that Bakura was "missing something" when they first met, but he never told him what it was. I don't really know how Bakura ended up finding out.... but in any case!!! Yeah, I think what you said is how it went down, Y.Bakura found out the same time that Ryou/Friendship Gang knew (pfffft, that's their new name now)
I agree. More exploring the relationship between Ryou and the Spirit in the Ring. Actually, more exploring of Bakura in general.
They should just make a spinnoff called Yugioh: Bakura.

I found that really interesting too, he's so happy to find the ring even through he (kindof?) is aware what it does to him. (or is he???). I think it's also because it's a gift from his dad whom he never sees so he'd be pretty keen on keeping it safe.
