Melam , Mel for short, Qunari Mage brought into a Noble family to help teach the daughter (Amaris / Ari) magic in secret. The head of the Family was known for bringing in " inappropriate" people into her court. so it was common for her to ignore the protests of other nobles/family members
Mel is not apart of the Qun , so she was quite happy to mooch off a noble family. originally she was told by her Brothers to kill them and they would take what fortune they could. but after living there she decided against it. and ended up very close to the Main members of the Family, The head of the family, being the kind of woman she is, even allowed Melams Brothers to take money for themselves, which went over pretty decently.
