Wasn't sure if this was better off in fantasy, or macabre and horror.
This artwork has been in the making for the last two years. It initially started as a piece for a deviantART competition for easter where we had to use an egg shape and include someone else's texture and your own artwork as well.

I never really got it started, so I just made it completely separate and my own. It is a monster in a shell which is both mechanical and biological. It's skeleton is completely mechanical and robotic, yet the roboticness and mechanicalness grew and formed itself. I know that isn't possible in this world, but in a fantasy world anything is possible.
Originally a robotic seed spawned a frame and over time, a shell formed and wrapped around and inside that frame. Over time a mechanical skeleton started to develop attached to a mechanical and biological umbilical cord and from there life form and organic tissue started to grow.
It has a brain encased inside a robotic spinal cord. Veins grow out of its robotic skeleton to feed itself and currently it is in mid development. Over time it will grow and it's skin will appear flat and solid, but for now it's skin is transparent.

The transparency and layering was incredibly difficult because it was all drawn manually. No layering or photoshopping done at all. I had to take into consideration 3 to 4 main layers so I tried to draw it as if it was a completely see throgh 3d object, but solid as well.

A little bit of colour adjustments were done after it in photoshop, mainly just mid tones, and a background was added, but other than that this is completely hand drawn and I'm very proud of what I achieved.
