Developed a new fur style while painting in Sai! To me it kind of seems like a hybrid between my open canvas painting and the smoother style I was using in sai.
I referenced my awesome taxidermy fox Riff for a more lifelike fur.
Either way I like it even though it was a bit time consuming... look ma no lines!

Ooh I really like this style of fur you've used. It's not entirely realistic in appearance, but gives your work enough of a lift to seem more realistic than cartoon-ish. (:

I don't think i'll ever go for -full- realisim just because I adore how painterly this method seems and I love to keep my original style in there for some emotion and expression. Thanks! ^^ it was fun to do

lol don't worry, DA has done that to me plenty of times. For some reason, if I draw a fantasy animal it goes straight into 'anthro' >.<

Reminds me of your "9000 Miles" pic. I find it amusing though that several people are giving le-way to detail while I'm still trying to figure out how to put detail into my drawings (no matter how much time it takes X3)!

I know you were experimenting, but do you mind if I just give a small crit?
It looks really nice, but I recommend putting more shadows in this style. So it doesn't accidentally look a little dull. Also maybe try and shade the claws or something, because the claws kind of look like they were just stuck on her. But i'm sure with more use of this technique you'll make it look absolutely amazing <3

I actually do have that problem alot, not putting harsh enough shadows in, I also coulda done more with the paws and claws but it was 3am and I was all @________@ lol. I will work on those next time so it looks a little more standout. <3
