I've always felt pressure to be something I'm not, so fuck it this year im gonna let my colors fly! I have been at peace with my NB gender and Asexuality for years so I don't care if anyone thinks they 'don't exist'. I know who I am & I support you too πRelated content

I feel like ace/aro people and bi people have the same 'doesn't exist' stigma. I can't say how many times i hear "but you're married to a man!" when i tell someone i'm Bisexual. It's like because i fell in love with a dude i'm not allowed to be attracted to women.
It's in the same vein as Ace/Aro people getting the "but Everyone falls in love!" or "everyone wants sex!" all the time. None of them are true statements and it's super annoying to hear it all the time.
Anyway, good on you for coming out and being proud of yourself! There's nothing wrong with being NB or Ace/Aro and no one should make you feel like there is.Β

Indeed. Its annoying to be on a level of "can't quite relate" to so many people & Bi erasure is sooooo so common in Bi women who marry men.
Im good with -she- because im used to it and They makes me quite happy too. I wouldn't mind 'He' if people didn't assume all my characters were masc because I don't draw eyelashes and other fem-coded things on them.Β

Demi is part of the ace spectrum. Demi seems to confuse people more often than not so I usually just say ace. No mistake here! I am definitely not aromantic

To be honest, I donβt really get why itβs so hard for some people to understand (or rather to respect it and not bother others with it) that thereβs more than just female and male, especially since there are intersex people too. It isnβt magic or something. Just variation.Β

When we get to a time where no one has to care about someones sexuality or gender, unless they are say interested in them, then we know we've hit a point of acceptance. I think it kinda sucks that we have to have pride parades and flags, when if people were just introduced to the plethora of combinations and taught to not really give a flying flag (pun intended) then there wouldn't be this massive push of terms that many don't understand and then get frustrated about and assume that it must mean that it doesn't exist if they can't understand or relate.Β
The more and more I look around, though it could be the circles I gravitate towards, the more I'm normalized seeing all kinds of people, who are just that, people. But I live in a time where someones personal likes and dislikes are apparently important to those who aren't even necessarily needing to be privy to that information and then have the gall to judge them for it.Β
I'm personally cis-female and bi or pansexual (there are so many terms and I don't know what fits, it also shouldn't really matter), which apparently is more "accepted", but I've seen so many friends and family members deal with this bull that it is just so frustrating and unfair. I don't like pride as it tends to ostracize and create the same fostering of elitism mindset (Gold star gays is a great example) it often fights against, but I absolutely support things like this in a world where people judge for things that do not harm them and do not matter. There is no other way to normalize something so apparently foreign and apparently scary then to flood them with it till it normalizes.
Let you colors fly, because fuck it, there is no reason you should hide who you are you don't harm others and you don't judge them, they sure as fuck shouldn't be judging or harming you.Β

I've always been kinda scared about it cause one of my good irl friends went on a rant on how NB people have to "choose" and how they have to be one thing or another.Β
At the time I didn't say anything cause I was still keeping all of my feelings to myself but now I'm like "fuck it". So I'm gonna just fucking go for it especially since I have a super close friend who supports me and I couldn't ask for anything more. I didn't even have to formally tell him, he saw my new icon in discord and immedeatly just starting showering me with so much love I started to tear up.Β
