Dragon Song- Introduction- Part 3

"Eric huh? Well, I may tell you my name later... but you can call me Wintersong for now." The stranger, Wintersong, smiled slightly. He had tipped ears like an elf, and silver eyes. Eric's mind was spinning, and he was full of questions, but he decided on just two questions to ask.

"So, am I your captive now?" Eric asked slowly, trying to stay calm, "And what are you? Your ears are like mine, but you neither act nor speak like an elf, and you said the word elf as if you find my kind... distasteful..." Wintersong sighed, turning away and sitting on the edge of the cliff, a saddened look about his position and manner. He sighed, before turning to look at the curious elf.

"Consider yourself... a somewhat unwilling companion. I doubt I'll be tying you up or anything, but of course, that depends on your behaviour. And I'm not going to tell you what I am yet... All in due time Eric... all in due time..." Wintersong stood again, walking through the snow over to Eric. Crouching down in front of the seated elf, Wintersong looked him in the eyes calmly. "Listen... I don't like elves very much, and I have my reasons for it. But... I'm willing to give you a chance, But you are only going to be getting one chance. Don't run off, don't try to hurt me, and please give me a reason to trust you." Wintersong returned to his former standing position, and held out his hand to help Eric stand. Eric took the outstretched hand firmly, pulling himself to a standing position.

"Thanks for the hand up," Eric replied, smiling slightly, "I really appreciate it." Wintersong nodded, but did not reply, instead beginning to walk to the edge of the cliff. Eric followed hesitantly....
