Sometimes all you gotta do is plug in your earbuds and jam away to some music to have a good time.

Hooray for the first drawing of 2017! As you probably realised, I never did end up finishing that christmas picture I mentioned... oops. I also was working on another picture which was based off the game, Elsword, which I played a ton of over the last 2 months, however I didn't really like it and thus it was scrapped as well.

I really want to try nail hard a lineless style that has minimal shading, so I can create illustrations at a faster rate. That was my initial goal with this piece, however it ended up still having a lot of shading aghh! I mean I'm happy with how this one turned out, as I got to try something with textured shading, but I still want to try develop a style that isn't so time consuming.

I wanted to make an effort with the background, but it ended up taking so long. It probably doesn't look like much but I spent around 5 hours on the buildings alone. It was a lot of fun though adding a lot of colour, particularly in the windows where I could use a bunch of bright colours.

While I had a lot of fun experimenting a lot in this piece, both with colours and brushes, one thing I'm not a huge fan of is the sky. While I really do like it, it just kinda annoys me how I couldn't get it the right shade for Cheesy to pop out more. I added a slight shadow behind her, but when you make the picture black and white, there's not much a difference between her and the sky. Most likely because both of them are using pinkish colours, but oh well.

I'm not sure if any of you guys have realised, but it's starting to become a thing where I draw Cheesy every January. I did the Draw This Again Meme a long time ago and uploaded it, but I've actually been privately continuing it ever since. While each drawing of Cheesy doesn't literally have the same scenario as the previous, I think it's a good way for me to look at my progress and whatnot.
