"Keep it together," Avery said both for herself and for her sweet monster of a dog, Bear. It was almost time to enter the ring and begin stacking, last minute brushing, complete focus. At 36 inches at the withers, Bear was a giant-- aptly named! His sweet, big almond eyes never left her's, constantly in tune and in check with his candy haired owner/handler. Avery took a moment to compose herself, closed her eyes and let out a very slow breath. "You ready, big boy?" she asked, smiling at her gentle giant. His ears perked inquisitively, just as they called group 10 to the ring. This was it. The World Dog show. Ambitious for their first show ever, but she was confident in both herself and her borzoi. This is what they had been training for.

I had actually been working on this piece since January but only now found the time to finish it! My first show entry *happy tear*
From the beginning I knew I wanted to show Bear-- painting red dogs is just so much fun and he has quite a lot of coat! I took quite a lot of pictures at the Golden Gate Kennel Club dog show for reference. Couldn't pass up the opportunity!
