(This is MS Paint XP pixel art, make sure you see it as such by clicking on it once or twice, just to make sure.)An absolutly adorable toad-like rendition of an Akhlut with two youngs. Because I needed more polar creatures, one that squeaks. I'd also like them to have the spunk of the honey badger. And yes, the white spot behind the eye, I made it its eardrum.
There are several drawings of them you can find on Google, but they all look so dreadfully similar and obvious in design choices. I actually simplified it further, and I much prefer this. But what do you think?

They're so adorable as these little froggy things! I have a drawing of an Akhlut I plan on putting up soon, and admittedly I feel like it's nowhere near this good. XD

This is such an amazing pixel drawing! I love the design and, as you said, different than most of the Google images. Your version is less wolf-like and much more stocky and compact, almost like a bulldog. But it makes them also look really cute! Especially the pups!

Do they also have blowholes or a peculiar breathing apparatus? Spiracles? Gills?

Through their skin if they're not doing anything, like the two pups. And through the mouth and nostrils, which are probably placed like blowholes somewhere 'round the neck, if they're active.
