*shudder* oh god, that commercial's disturbing.anyways... it's Mokona! from CLAMP's various stuffs. it's a commish for KatSumeragi . i forgot to ask if she wanted the ears up or down, so i made both. she wanted the ears down, so i'm keeping the other one. :3
i made them from memory, but then i had a sneaking suspicion that i'd gotten something wrong, so i looked up some reference pics. i'd forgotten the tails (which you can't see in this pic anyways), and i forgot that the inside of his (yes, mokona is a boy) ears and the pads of his feet are pink. so i had to fix them. Kat's is a lil under 5/8", and mine is that, plus ears.

thank you! they're made with Sculpey clay. they're painted with acrylic paints and then glazed, and the gems in their foreheads are lil plastic beads. ;3

i think that commercial kills a brain cell every time i see it. see, the commercial is pretty funny (in a disturbing sort of way) and i do rather enjoy it, but it also makes me feel just a little bit dumber every time i see it. XD

That turned out really spiffy. HORRIDLY cute. I'm almost tempted to send you my Inuyasha psx game in trade for stuff, but I have no idea what I'd want in return! But if you're dead-set on having that game, I'll think really hard or something.
And I know not the commercial you speak of. But playing that Sneak-King game, I do know the creepiness. o_o Especially since my friend Maya will sometimes pop up behind people, and unfurl her hands like she has a burger for them. O_O

I saw the commercial, and yeah, its just wrong. The spongebob figurine on my desk is crying blood. His spirit is wounded.
And I will send you my Inuyasha game, after some thinking, I really like the squid thingies you make, and was thinking of a nautilus. They're hidious creatures, and I bet you could make a really cute one. If that's too hard, lemme know. Note me or something.

aw, i love nautili! actually i was watching one of those cool oceanic nature shows on the Discovery channel about a week ago, and there was this awesome nautilus jetting around. and i was thinkin' i could make the most adorable clay nautilus. so you're in luck! you'll get my very first one!
i used to have a huge nautilus shell in my bathroom when i was a kid. then when we moved my mom decided she wanted her bathroom to be all oceanic/beachy themed, so she stole that and some other shells i had, and a couple kickass huge heads of coral. maybe when my parents move again i'll bug her for my nautilus back. i luff him so! T_T

Woohoo! I saw some hype about a tv show too, that had a nautilius in it. It was a bunch of pictures in Discover magazine, and the undersea creatures, though hidious as they were, all had the potential for major cuteness....except for the Vampire Squid from Hell. D: (well maybe).
And you should be ninja-ey and replace it with some OTHER shell! Your parents will never know the difference, its all 'sea theme,' right? Muahaha.
*does a little dance for the Nautilus* People will think me that much weirder with a sea creature hanging from my neck/purse/keys/whatever.

it was on Blue Planet: Seas of Life. it's actually a hella good series. they were showing it alongside Planet Earth, which is also pretty good. great footage, but it's not tied together too well. you know. eye candy, but not very informative.
wheee, i love sea beasties! 'cept for fish. fish are icky. i love all the wierd tentacled and spikey things. ^_^
i think if i stole the nautilus shell back my mother wouldn't even notice. it's waaaay up on a shelf that nobody ever looks at. it's just that i don't really have a place for it anyways. my clumsy bf would just break it if i put it on the countertop. =_=

haha, actually that commercial kinda makes me laugh too, as long as i'm not watching it. but then if i actually look up and see the guy then i'm like "aaa! that does not make me want a burger!" 'cause the guy's all creepy and molestery and stuff. even more so because his wife looks all disgusted and disturbed by him.
i use several coats of DecoArt DuraClear high gloss polyurethane glaze. ;3

is it a spray or paint-on glaze? and does it take a long time to dry? I'm looking for something better than mod podge, but something that doesn't take like a week to dry XD

it's a brush on glaze, and it dries pretty fast. under 20 minutes, even for a big puddle of it, usually. it doesn't dry rock hard, though. it stays flexible. i haven't decided yet if that's a good or a bad thing. it's nice, 'cause then it doesn't crack or scratch like a crispy glaze would. i guess the downside is all in my imagination, but in my mind soft=gooey=uncured. which isn't the case, by any means. i've worn the hell out of some of the things i've made, and they don't get gross or goopy or anything. so i guess it's just all in my head.

it's that stupid Burger King commercial! i've got it stuck in my head! the one where the dude's in the bathtub, and his wife's standing around doing a whole lot of nothing, and the kid runs up and she's all "mom! spongebob's at burger king! can we go!?" and then the mom's all "as soon as your father's done." and then the guy puts a big sponge on his head, and he stands up and he's all strategically lathered... down there... and he's all "who am i, honey? spongebob. spongebob nopants." and she's all "...*nod&lookathimlikeshehateshim*... wow." and then he's all "i live in a pineapple, honey. under the sea." and he looks like a crazygross molester.
