Description These are visceral times. This is a visceral world. I fear that this may be the end.

Visceral is a sort of brain-child, yet again. Loosely based off of a book I wrote a while back called "Lion and Lamb" (and no, it was not a romance or about vampires), which was a dystopia society set in the year of 2350. A world-wide government called the 'Enthrall' took power over everything, after World War III, which depleted basically everyone's supplies and natural resources. As a result, the Enthrall decided it was time a Utopian society was made. They took away guns and most weapons, and then they began to tell people what they could do and how they could do it. After a few years of this, people rebelled, creating a massive Civil War all over the world. They basically destroyed the Enthrall, but in doing so, they also destroyed anything related to law. As a result, years later and after the Death Toll (which was a massive death-count that happened during the civil war, because of poor living conditions and injuries and just outright death), the world is ruled by the lawless. Gangs and vandals patrol the streets and call the cities 'there', while the good-hearted are too fearful to stand up to them.

Basically, the idea that this manip about is quite similar, but its set in a different city then 'Lion and Lamb'. Rather, instead of being in Khios, which is a major headquarters for a large gang called Sivis, its in a smaller city most people don't know about, and its where a lot of new gangs start up. I'm considering that its put after Lion and Lamb, for at the end of that book there's a huge fight between two gangs, leaving the 'bad' gang in the ditches, trying to pick themselves back up. Anyways, as for the symbolism in everything on the image: the bird is supposed to represent both freedom and death. "'I loved it when they came into town as a child. I would run to meet them, and I would ask them, "What's it like out there in the big bad world?"

Most of them would ignore me, but sometimes they would grin. One said, "The big bad world's in here, kid. Outside it's free and lonely.'" The character relates travelers with birds, because he believes birds are free and able to go wherever they want, whereas he is trapped in one place all the time, unable to leave. Also, because the bird is a raven, which is a carrion-bird, it feasts off of dead flesh the railroad tracks are something similar: they relate to escape, on a way of getting out. And then the meaning of the city in the background is pretty obvious xD

... now I'll stop assaulting you with my wall of text. If you take the idea I will eat you, by the way.

The lyrics on the image are from the song 'Uprising' by Muse.
