Still for my vision of a Zelda series adaptation in which I wish to include my visions of Darunia, Ruto and Saria as secondaries characters, all inspired by their Ocarina of Time counterparts. Don't worry, I haven't forget Impa nor Nabooru, I just didn't have the place.

And as for what I plan for Zelda herself, their characters (and maybe their design as well) may require some readjustment or development to fit with my vision of the series or the story, at the risk of being slightly different from original model.

For Darunia for example, he may be fused with Daruk Breath of the Wild or Darmani from Majora's Mask. It's an imposing Goron warrior/chief with a herculean strength who looks proud, brutish and hot-headed at first sight, but quickly reveals to be friendly and big-hearted, particularly toward Link whose bravery he recognises and respects.
I just thought giving more personality, with inner conflict or weaknesses, which'll reveal is not as invulnerable and tough as he seems to be. Like showing how he deeply cares about his kin and family for whom he is responsible and is afraid of failing them or loosing their respect, a fear that Zelda and Link will empathise.

For Ruto, she's still a carefree and strong-willed Zora princess who has a crush on Link. But I would like to exclude the tsundere and snooty parts to make her more likeable and more focus on the free-spirited, playful and rebellious parts. In fact, I think about making her the kind of princess who despises etiquette and ceremonies, who only ask for being free, independent and mistress of her own fate. The kind who refuses arranged marriages and don't assume well her princess's status or her responsibilities, who even don't like being called or referred as "princess" or "your majesty/highness". And prefers swimming and playing in Lake Hylia or others Hyrule rivers and sometimes spying on the land dwellers.
The idea is making a counter-example of Zelda who take her princess status and responsibilities more to heart.

As for Saria, she isn't a Kokiri anymore in my vision. Just an Hylian girl who grew up in the same village and environment as Link and to whom she had a more brother-sister like relationship. But she still a young forest girl who isolates herself in the woods to play ocarina (including her famous theme song ). I even think about making her an autistic girl (or at least a shy, sweet and delicate young girl) who prefers forest creatures company to other Hylians else, either adults or children of her age.
And I even think about a story arc for her where she takes refuge in the Lost Woods to escape an army of Moblins, meets the Skull Kids (who happens to be the last remaining Kokiri since Ganon's last take-over) there and becomes one of them.
